It's Wobble Time!

Whooo's Ready for Valentine's Day???

I am! I have my granddaughters' little gifts bought and their cards made. Kaileigh's was shared with you on my January 17th post for the Action Wobbles Design Team. And now, I am happy to share Koral's!

Isn't that owl-dorable? (ha-ha, made a funny!) I just printed it multiple times and cut the layers out, and attached them with foam tape to give it a little dimension. The wobble is on the back of the owl:

Gee! Ro Donner That lady in the photo needs a manicure! Oh, but I digress. lol

Anywhoooo....pun intended....(I'm full of it today!)....the journaling was computer-generated and printed onto a 6.5" x 4.5" matstack from the Mariposa collection (DCWV). Easy peasy. No stamping or lining up. If you don't already know how to accomplish this, you just measure the area that you want to text on, set up your text using pretty much any computer software (Word, Print Shop, etc), and print it on plain paper. Then you just use removable tape and attach your piece over the top of where it just printed and run it through again. You can do this with small pieces of specialty paper or ribbon too.

So, now that I've squawked (tee hee) your ear off, here is a teensy little video to show you the owl in action.

Cute, right? I think Koral will enjoy making the little owl wobble.

Sketch~N~Scrap Inspiration Challenge!

Do you love a good sketch? 

I know I do! And each month, Sketch~N~Scrap has a scrapbook layout inspiration challenge. This challenge sketch is taken from a completed layout. The layout originator is then revealed!

I have been wanting to push myself to do more scrapbook layouts of my granddaughters, and this has been the key to my actually doing just that! Come play along!

The strawberries were cut with my Cricut, the words from my Silhouetete, and the pretty little embellishments are Dew Drops from The Robin's Nest.

I Heart You

Create a project that uses a heart

Love is in the air with Valentine's Day just around the corner. And this week's challenge coordinates very well with that! For my project, I chose to use the Spring Fever Holiday Cartridge. It had a beautiful filigree heart which made a perfect backdrop for my card.

I created a white card base, size 5" x 5". I then embossed a 4 7/8" x 4 7/8" piece of cardstock using the Cross My Heart embossing folder from Cricut. 

I added the beautiful filigree heart which was cut at 4.5" using red cardstock from Cricut. The image on top of that was made using a Stampin' Up set called A Little Bit of Happiness. The hearts were colored with Spectrum Noir markers and it was attached with a bit of foam tape.

The final touch was the elegant Love wooden diecut (from Gina's Designs) accented with a piece of pink satin and sheer ribbon.

For the inside of the card, I added a simple sentiment and used the outside of the filigree heart. (Nothing goes to waste!)

Sketch~N~Scrap Card Challenge #19 for February

Good Day to You!

Today I have another card challenge from Sketch~N~Scrap that I hope you will play along with! 

This sketch provides an opportunity for lots of elements and embellishments. I really enjoyed putting this one together. Here is my card:

I layered a soft patterned paper on top of some pink cardstock, and mounted that on a white card base. I then added some sheer glistening ribbon and some pink satin and sheer ribbon, along with a piece of Ric-Rac trim.  The gold birdcage is from a set of Dazzles Stickers from HOTP.  I trimmed a piece of the pink cardstock to put behind the birdcage portion of the sticker to help it stand out from the ribbon. I used a few more Dazzles in the corners for the accents. The sentiment was hand written and cut out of white cardstock and mounted with dimensional tape.

In the closeup you can really see the shimmer of that gorgeous sheer ribbon. The sticker made a real stand-out embellishment and was a quick and easy finish to this card.
