Did You Miss Me?

I'm baaaaccckkkkk with four new cards designed from Card Sketches I found on the blogisphere! Here are the cards:

The first one is probably my favorite.  Mahalo!  This is from the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #56 (PCCCS56).

It's the perfect sketch to use some of those "inchies" I've had for, like, forever! I also used the palm tree from Balmy Breezes (Stampin' Up) and made my own word stamp using the letters from a new Mama Elephant set called Bella Letters.

Next up is Happy Birthday.  This was derived from Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #55 (PCCCS55).

I love the little piece of vellum which just softens the background.  I used a vellum tag for the sentiment and added some black "bling" for a little pop!


This next one, Sending Good Thoughts, is from Sketch #119 over at the Atlantic Hearts Challenge Blog.

Very simple card. Doesn't take a lot of supplies and comes together quickly.

And the final card is Woof!  This sketch is from the August 2015 Week 1 Sketch at Viva La Verve.

I saw the background paper in a pad and it just cried bandana and denim.  The dog is from You Make My Tail Wag (My Favorite Things), and the pocket is a very old stamp that I bought so many years ago, I don't even know the manufacturer. But I love it.  The inside of the card says "Be the person your dog thinks you are."

PCCCS #55

A Little Old, A Little New....Perfect Blend

I'm playing along today with the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge.  They have some really great card sketches and I've enjoyed the inspiration they've provided for me to get some cards done!  Here is the sketch:

PCCCS #55

I really like doing square cards.  And I'm always in need of thank you's, so here is what I put together:

For some reason this looks yellow and purple, but IRL it is yellow and deep red (color of sentiment)/

I love the color combination.  It's kind of between summer and fall.  I used Riding Hood Red  and Summer Sun papers and inks from Stampin' Up!  They are the "old".  The sentiment is from the SU! Artfully Asian set.  The "new" are the flowers (on the background and the main image) which are from the SU! Simply Soft set. I also used the oval and corner punches from SU!.  The ribbon and button were from my leftover stash and the bling is provided via the Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest).

Here are a couple of close-ups so you can see the very subtle background stamping and the highlights on the flowers.

PCCS #54

Happy Halloween!

PCCS #54

No, I haven't (totally) lost my mind.  I know it's only August.  But this sketch challenge at PCCS (Paper Craft Crew). for some reason, brought Halloween to my mind.  I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that all the stores are starting to show hints of Halloween displays.  I mean, really! Already!

I started out with some SU! cardstock for my base.  I then cut my shapes using the oval and scallop dies from Spellbinders.  Using the Spooky Skyline SU! wheel, I inked it with Archival Graphite Black ink and rolled it onto the lighter cardstock.  I then stamped Happy Halloween and the bat from Halloween Backgrounds.  I stamped my card base with the moon and stars stamp from Halloween Backgrounds using Pumpkin Pie ink.  The adhesive ribbon was attached and the layers put on top of that.  I added a couple of Recollections gems to give it a little bling.

Well, that's one card down for Halloween.  Guess I'll start making some Thanksgiving cards next! lol

PCCCS #52

Hi, Again!

I'm back with another challenge card for Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge.  I came across this blog and now I can't seem to stop playing along.  LOL

Here is the sketch:

The sketch really appealed to me.  I think it's because it's a square card and I really like those lately (...subject to change like the weather).   And since I'm dreaming and wishing I could just hang out on the beach with an umbrella drink in my hand, I pulled out my shell stamps and went to town...er...the beach.  

I started out with a 5.25" square card base.  I spritzed the matting layer (5" square) with Smooch Spritz and set aside.  I then cut three pieces of twill ribbon and spritzed two of them with Smooch Spritz.  I cut a smaller piece for my main image mat and tore another cream color piece of cardstock for my top layer.  I stamped one shell in brown on the torn paper.  I then stamped the other shell in blue on a scrap piece and fussy-cut it out and attached some dimensional foam to the back.  The colored twill was attached to the mat along with the stamped layer and popped up shell.  The plain twill was attached and wrapped to the back of the mat.  The mat was then attached to the card and the fish and silver pearls added.

For the inside of the card, I added another matting layer and stamped more shells with Versamark and added a little of the blue spritz spray.

I opted to skip the sentiment on this card so I will be able to use it for whatever occasion presents itself. I think this would be an excellent masculine card.  They are usually a little harder to come by, and I'm happy to be able to add one to my stash!
