Drunken Stampers Challenge

Well, this is my last guest post for Drunken Stampers.  It's been a fun month with all their movie-themed challenges!  Please visit them and play along.  You will find lots of inspiration, challenges and ideas.

The challenge this week is Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

I couldn't find any spy-related stamps in my stash, but I did have a wedding-theme in mind so I added the Mr. & Mrs. Smith to that.  I used a brand new Cuttlebug Embossing Folder from Anna Griffin, some beautiful ribbon and a heart charm.  Easy-peasy!

HAPPY EASTER!!!

...And I've Been Published Again!!

I can't believe it's Easter already.  And yet, there's still snow and blustery weather in the air.  I am so ready for Spring.  Especially since I just returned from a two week vacation in Florida and the Caribbean.  To go from 80's to the teens in a matter of hours....can I say Y U C K !?!

First up, a little good news....another of my cards has been published in the Scrap & Stamp Arts Magazine!  The June 2013 issue features my "Special Dad" Father's Day card submission.  And, it's under "Various Artists!"  Woo Hoo!!!  They think I'm an ARTIST!!!  (Doing a happy dance!)

But I don't know why they put by "Rosanne" instead of "Ro"....Grrrrr.  Oh well, it's a teensy issue in the grand scheme of life.

Next up:  FCCB Challenge #154 - Easter!

This week's Challenge Me Monday theme is Easter.  And I, along with the other Design Team members, have a project to share!  I knew I wanted to do a side-step card and I knew glitter would be involved (shocker, right?).  But that was all I knew.  But once I started thumbing through the Create A Critter 2 manual, it wasn't long before I had my design firmly scribbled on my idea pad.

So, without further delay, here is my cheery, Easter-y, glittery card:

FCCB Challenge #154
I cut out the chick at 3" and the eggs at 2" and 1".  Happy Easter was also at 1".  I love this cartridge!!

I had ordered some new cardstock from Cricut and I have to say...it is AWESOME!  Cuts like a dream!  This is the only cardstock I used on this project (with the exception of the base and background paper) and you can bet I will be using this all the time!

I also used a variety of Stickles to get my desired amount of "bling" and I'm very happy with how it turned out. Here are some close-ups...

Hope you have a wonderful Easter!  But first, head on over to Fantabulous Cricut and check out all the wonderful projects from the Design Team!  Hopefully you will be inspired to play along too!

Til next time, keepin' it crafty!

Drunken Stampers Challenge #120: The Birds

T h e  B i r d s . . .

I am happy to be back again with another Guest Designer post for Drunken Stampers.  This week's theme is The Birds.

While that was a really creepy movie, even in it's day, long before all the technology that's available now, I decided to loosen my version and make it happy rather than frightening.

DS #120
I came across a set of Inkadinkado inchie stamps when I was reorganizing my stash, and it fit perfectly for this card.  The sentiment is hand drawn by me.  I like the simplicity of this card and the little pun goes along perfectly with this lighthearted creation.

Fly on over to the Drunken Stampers and play along.  And while you're there, check out all the wonderful designs by the Design Teams.

Til next time, keepin' it crafty!

Spring Is In The Air

I am so ready for Spring.  When this publishes, I will just be returning from a Eastern Carribean cruise, and going from beautiful tropical weather to Michigan weather is a drastic change.  Hopefully but the time my plane touches down in Detroit, Spring will be evident.

Spring has sprung all over the place at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. The theme this week is "Spring Is In The Air" and what better way to play along than with a springy tree on a card.

FCCB #153
I used the Bloom cartridge for the tree and fence.  The little flying critters are from my stash and the sentiment was stamped with an alphabet set that I dug out of my stash.  I added Stickles to the flowers and leaves to give it a little bling.

Hope you enjoyed my card and are inspired to play along!  Head on over to FCCB and see the neat stuff the Design Team has posted.

Til next time, keepin' it crafty!

DS #119: Grease

Grease is the Word!

Today at Drunken Stampers, the theme is Grease!

I have to admit, it was a tough challenge for me since I tend to do projects that are either very flowery, nautical, or heirloom-y.  I looked through my massive stash of supplies and could not find one classic car themed stamp or embellishment.  What to do, what to do...

Thank goodness for the wonderful web.  I was able to find a graphic that "spoke" to me...it reeked the theme "Grease"...perfect!  So a little hybrid craftwork later, I had the card!

DS #119
I found the graphic online, printed it twice and fussy-cut the top layer.  A tab cut with my Stampin' Up punch, some white gel pen lettering and a coat of Glossy Accents on the top layer...VOILA!  A card!

Hope this inspires you to go a little outside of your comfort zone.  You never know what you might end up discovering!

So, shimmy on over to the Drunken Stampers blog and see what the Design Team has created. I hope you play along too!

Til next time, keepin' it crafty!

FCCB 152: Luck O' The Irish

Faith and Begorrah! It's A St. Patty's Card!

Things are flowing green over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is Luck O' The Irish, and I was feeling that luck when this card came together.

FCCB 152
It's called a Shadowbox Card.  I sort of followed the directions on the Split Coast Stampers (you can find the tutorial for it here).  And I was so excited to use my new Create A Critter 2 cartridge for the first time.  I love how it turned out.  Here are the elements I used:

I used clear acetate on the top of the card so I could layer the lettering over the opening, so I used some Dazzles from HOTP to cover the glue strip.  I added Glossy Accents and Stickles to some of the elements to give it that bling.  And all my papers were from my scrap pile (I love using up my scraps!).

Now, head on over to FCCB and check out all the other wonderful designs by the very talented Design Team!  And maybe you'll even be inspired to play along!

Til next time, keepin' it crafty!

Drunken Stampers Challenge #118: Sixteen Candles

Drunken Stampers Challenge #118

I have a special treat for you today.  It's magic!!!  What appears to be a cute, but ordinary, card turns into a beautifully colored image...MAGICALLY!

The theme this week is the movie Sixteen Candles, a birthday theme.  I hope you head on over to see what the Design Team has concocted.  But before you go, check out this little bit of prestidigitation!

Here is the seemingly bland little card:

Drunken Stampers Challenge #118
Now, watch what happens....

I know the video is kinda goofy, but at least you get to see the "magic" happen!

Here are some more pics and closeups.

Like any good magician, I can't reveal my secrets.  But I can tell you how you can learn to make this type of card....Paper Wishes.  They have some great CD's that show all kinds of neat card designs.  This style was cased from Teresa Welch from Hot Off The Press.

Supplies used:  Cardstock from Recollections, Patterned Paper from Flavia.  The stickers were all from K&Co.  Sentiment stamps and cake are unknown.  The dog is from Stamps by Judith.  Markers and Inks from Stampin' Up!

Now, go check out what the amazing Drunken Stampers Design Team has done!

Til next time, Keepin' It Crafty!

FCCB #151: Bye Bye Birdie

I'd Rather Say "Hi" Than "Bye"...

So for this week's challenge over on Fantabulous Cricut, the theme is Bye Bye Birdie.  But since I have the winter doldrums, along with everyone else in the Midwest at least, I decided to say "hi" to the birdies with a little Spring Card.

FCCB #151
I used the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge and The Cricut Craft Room to design the elements for my card.  I used scrap pieces of paper and cardstock, so the vendors are a complete mystery to me.  But I have to say I love the glittery paper that I used for the bird and for "spring".  Gives it such a springy twinkle!

And the flowers/leaves were punched out of cardstock using a Stampin' Up punch, overstamped with a circle design and a little bling added.

I hope you head on over to FCCB and check out all the wonderful designs from the new Design Team.

Keep It Crafty!!

GUEST DESIGNER GIG!

DRUNKEN STAMPERS GUEST DESIGNER

For the WHOLE Month of March!

Yup!  I got selected as a Guest Designer....and I'm elated!  The Drunken Stampers group has graciously accepted me into their "Tavern of Talent" for the whole month of March.  I get to play along with all the challenges, and I sure hope you come play along too!

Each week there is a new theme based on a movie.  This week's theme is "The Sound of Music".

So, here is my card:

Drunken Stampers #117
Close-Up of Tag
Sentiment from Unity Stamps
Inside of Card
The background paper is from The Heirloom Stack (DCWV).  The base cardstock is from Recollections.  I used alcohol inks and distressed the tag frame to better coordinate with the papers, and assembled the tag using Memory Maker's Tag Maker.  The gold music sticker is accented with Rusty Hinge Stickles to give it a bit more bling.  A little scrap ribbon adds some dimension to the tag.  Both sentiments (embossed in gold) are from Unity Stamps.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I hope you visit The Drunken Stampers and see what crafts they're concocting!

Til next time, keepin' it crafty!
