Action Wobbles Card for Ewe

Happy Thursday! 

And hello to all you wonderful wobble-lovin' folks! I have a fun card to welcome Spring...just for EWE!

To make my card, I started with a 5x5 card base. Using my Silhouette, I cut the adorable sheep (Rainy Day Sheep by Lisa Norris, #56613) out of heavy white cardstock. I use white cardstock so I can better control the colors of the elements using Spectrum Noir markers.

To make the flower, I stamped the stem using a stamp from Stamps by Judith, and a flower from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. The dragonfly is also RST.

I added a computer journaled sentiment in a cloud that I designed in Silhouette by merging two flowers together. I added an Action Wobble so the cloud could sort or shake out the raindrops!

Glossy Accents were added to the hat and boots, and I created some shiny raindrops as well.

For the inside of the card, I added another computer journaled sentiment on white cardstock with the edges inked.

Be Mine Action Wobble Bug!

Today's post is all about cute and wiggly.  Valentine's Day is approaching, so it's not too early to start on those cute little Valentine projects.  I have for you today a sweet little card featuring an adorable bug with an Action Wobble.  How cute is he?

This busy little guy was created using the Create A Critter cartridge. I cut the bug at 2-3/4", the heart with wings at 3", and the sentiment at 2.25" (I think).  I used the Cricut line of papers. They cut so clean and nice.  And what special Valentine would be complete without an Action Wobble?  

After layering all my parts, I stamped the cardstock with a Stamps By Judith peg stamp and added some Stickles to the hearts and wings. I love how it turned out, and my granddaughter, Kaileigh (she's 3-1/2) thought it was the coolest thing ever.  This one is for her little sister, so I guess I need to make one for her next.

The Robin's Nest Design Team

Going Wild with The Robin's Nest Animal Prints!

Hi to all my followers and my new Robin's Nest friends!  I am excited to share with you a couple of cards I created using the wild and sparkly Animal Print paper from The Robin's Nest!

Both cards are 5" x 5" (cut cardstock 5" x 10" and score on the 5" mark).  I cut matting layers 4 7/8" and the animal print cardstock at 4 3/4".  

The base layer for the caffeine card is cream. The next layer is the solid side of the animal printer cardstock and the top layer is the glitter/print side of the animal print cardstock.  

The porcupine was stamped on cream cardstock and cut to size.  It was then mounted on a larger piece of the solid side of the Animal Print cardstock.  The "critter" was colored with Tombo markers and the outline detail was drawn with the markers as well.  

Diamond Dew Drops were added as an accent on the image layer.


The sentiment was stamped in brown ink and torn to size.  Gold Dew Drops were added as an accent.

And as you're checking that list out, be sure to click on the links to The Robin's Nest and see all the wonderful colors and shapes available in the Dew Drops.  They are truly awesome!!!  Especially for someone who likes a little bling (like me!).

The Think Big Card was fun to make.  The colors and the glittery elephants are just so cheery!  

I used both sides of the cardstock.  You'll find that the solid color sides make for excellent matting.  They perfectly coordinate with the glittery front.

I cut the smaller elephants down to a small rectangle and mounted them on the solid cardstock.  Before that was mounted on the layers, I used some beautiful ribbon I had in my stash and tied a knot.  The ribbon added the perfect glimmer.

The sentiment was stamped on....are you ready.....a paint chip!  I am always picking up paint chips when I accompany my DH to the hardware store.  Ok, I admit, I have made trips to the hardware store alone just to pick up paint chips for my craft projects.  Shameless, I know.

Who would have thought a color called "Anti-Freeze" would be so perfect?!

I adhered the sentiment and the elephants to the front of the card and added a little big of bling in the form of Dew Drops!  Between the shimmer of the ribbon and the glitter on the paper and the sparkly little Dew Drops, this card just pops!
 

And here is a little peek at the inside of the card.  I haven't decided which sentiment to put in there yet.  It could be used as a congratulations card or a graduation card, or even a card of support.

I have a special treat for you today.  It's magic!!!  What appears to be a cute, but ordinary, card turns into a beautifully colored image...MAGICALLY!

Like any good magician, I can't reveal my secrets.  But I can tell you how you can learn to make this type of card....Paper Wishes.  They have some great CD's that show all kinds of neat card designs.  This style was cased from Teresa Welch from Hot Off The Press.

Supplies used:  Cardstock from Recollections, Patterned Paper from Flavia.  The stickers were all from K&Co.  Sentiment stamps and cake are unknown.  The dog is from Stamps by Judith.  Markers and Inks from Stampin' Up!

Cards, Cards, Cards

Busy, Busy, Busy!

It's been a busy afternoon here in my cozy lil craft space.  I've been amazed at how many wonderful visitors I've had on my blog thanks to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  I've even gained a few followers, and I'm hoping for more.  After all, you all are why do this!  Blog, I mean.  I'd be doing these cards no matter what!  Passions work that way.  Yup!

Anyhooooo, I did another card for the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.  This theme was to use "Triple Time Stamping".  If you don't know what that is, or if you want to learn how to do it, check out this link HERE. 

But before I jumped into my Christmas card, I wanted to try the technique out.  And since my mom needed a wedding card for a wedding next weekend, what better opportunity than that?!  Here is what I came up with:

I just used black and white cardstock (Recollections) and stamped the background in Sky Gray Colorbox Chalk using the French Script background stamp from Stampin' Up!  The outside sentiment is from Stampendous, and the inside ones are from Stampin' Up! (top one) and Embossing Arts (bottom one).  I added a couple of Dazzles from HOTP.  I love how it turned out!

The next card is the one for the 52CCT.  I went a little outside the box and rather than doing rectangles, I did circles.  I cut one circle at 2", 3" and 4" and the solid circles were cut at 1/8" larger than each stamped circle.  The stamps used were from my vast collection of Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps.  The "JOY" was done with alphabet stamps from Image Tree.  Here it is:

And the final card is just a fun one that *popped* into my head.  I was going through my collection of Stamps By Judith and came across the mouse and the mason jar.  A lightbulb went off and next I was pulling out the cheese stamp and some grass and...voila!  It all came together.  I love the colors too.
 



Well, after I had it all stamped, what was I going to do with it?  All I could think of was "Say Cheese", so I printed a tiny label out and mounted it.  Then on the inside I added:

Clever, eh?  I thought so.  Mi queso es su queso!  My cheese is your cheese.  HA HA HA HA HA.  Ok, so maybe it's not that funny.  Wait!  Yes it is!  HA HA HA HA HA.  LMBO!
