52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown: August Sketch Challenge

A Christmas Quickie! (Not that kind!)

What I mean is a quick Christmas project!  I am playing along with the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown August Sketch Challenge and, rather than doing a card this time, I chose to do a tag...A BIG one. Here's the sketch:
And here is my tag:

I used some cute little buttons I had in my stash along with some washi tape and ribbon.  I hand-drew "seasons" and the faux stitching.

One tag down for Christmas.......a bazillion more to go! lol

Til next time, keepin' it crafty!

52 CCT Challenge #18

Warm Winter Wishes.

No, I haven't (totally) lost my mind.  It's just that I finally found a spare moment to play along with one of the challenge groups that I adore: 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my interpretation:

I really cleaned out some scrap stuff on this one!  So, unfortunately, I have no clue as to who made the papers.  The stamps used on the front are from Stampin' Up as was the ink.  The tiny snowflakes and sentiment were embossed.  Here's a couple of close-ups and an inside view:

Hope you enjoyed my little Christmas in June kinda card.  I have to say, I love doing the 52 CCT challenges....by Christmas time, I will have such a nice assortment of one-of-a-kind cards to send and share!

Hope you will play along too!

Til next time, keepin' it crafty!

Cards, Cards, Cards

Busy, Busy, Busy!

It's been a busy afternoon here in my cozy lil craft space.  I've been amazed at how many wonderful visitors I've had on my blog thanks to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  I've even gained a few followers, and I'm hoping for more.  After all, you all are why do this!  Blog, I mean.  I'd be doing these cards no matter what!  Passions work that way.  Yup!

Anyhooooo, I did another card for the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.  This theme was to use "Triple Time Stamping".  If you don't know what that is, or if you want to learn how to do it, check out this link HERE

But before I jumped into my Christmas card, I wanted to try the technique out.  And since my mom needed a wedding card for a wedding next weekend, what better opportunity than that?!  Here is what I came up with:

I just used black and white cardstock (Recollections) and stamped the background in Sky Gray Colorbox Chalk using the French Script background stamp from Stampin' Up!  The outside sentiment is from Stampendous, and the inside ones are from Stampin' Up! (top one) and Embossing Arts (bottom one).  I added a couple of Dazzles from HOTP.  I love how it turned out!

The next card is the one for the 52CCT.  I went a little outside the box and rather than doing rectangles, I did circles.  I cut one circle at 2", 3" and 4" and the solid circles were cut at 1/8" larger than each stamped circle.  The stamps used were from my vast collection of Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps.  The "JOY" was done with alphabet stamps from Image Tree.  Here it is:

And the final card is just a fun one that *popped* into my head.  I was going through my collection of Stamps By Judith and came across the mouse and the mason jar.  A lightbulb went off and next I was pulling out the cheese stamp and some grass and...voila!  It all came together.  I love the colors too.

Well, after I had it all stamped, what was I going to do with it?  All I could think of was "Say Cheese", so I printed a tiny label out and mounted it.  Then on the inside I added:

Clever, eh?  I thought so.  Mi queso es su queso!  My cheese is your cheese.  HA HA HA HA HA.  Ok, so maybe it's not that funny.  Wait!  Yes it is!  HA HA HA HA HA.  LMBO!

So, I think that's it for today.  Tomorrow is Monday and back to work.  Glad I got to enjoy my crafty time this weekend, and hope you did too!  Happy Crafting!

Another 52 CCT!

52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown -- January Theme/Recipe Challenge

I love looking out at the snow outside my window, knowing I don't have to go out in it.  And I love making Christmas cards, knowing that I don't have a deadline to get a bazillion of them made, signed, stuffed and mailed by a certain date.  I am really enjoying the card challenges from 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.  This week's Challenge (#13) is to use patterned paper and glitter, and to decorate the inside.  Mission accomplished!  I missed the deadline for submission, but I'm playing along anyhow!

52 CCT #13
Just LOOK at all that twinkle!

And here is the inside of the card:

I am glad Christmas isn't right around the corner, but when it does get close, I'll have my Christmas cards ready to go!  Come and play along!

Supplies used:

  • Cardstock: Recollections (Green, White)
  • Patterned Paper: Unknown (from my old, old stash)
  • Ink:  Colorbox Cat's Eye Chalk Ink (Green)
  • Ribbon: Buy-The-Spool
  • Glitter: Art Accentz (Spring Creek)
Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Christmas in January?

It's a 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown!

And I wanna play!  This is an awesome blog!  They do a Christmas Card a week.  Do you know what that means?  If you participate each week, you will end up with a bunch of cards to send for Christmas without that last minute rush!  I love this idea.  I wasn't sure if I'd feel the Christmas mojo after Christmas was over, but I was wrong.  I actually made TWO cards using their sketch design!  So head on over to 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown and play along!

Ok, so here is Sketch #13:
I used this card in both a horizontal and a vertical orientation, but I think I like the horizontal one better, so that's the one I'll enter.  Here it is:

52CCT - Sketch 13 (Horizontal)
I used all scraps on this card, which was a bonus.  The tags used are from freebie downloads from Paper Wishes.  (They have a TON of free downloads...you should check them out!)

And here's the vertical orientation card:

Well, that's it!  Happy Crafting!
